90 Years of Steamboat Willie
A celebration of the 1928 animated short film
‘90 years of Steamboat Willie’ was created in response to ISTD’s Anniversaries competition brief. I chose to celebrate the anniversary of Steamboat Willie as it was the first Mickey Mouse film released and the first cartoon with synchronised sound. The aim was to inform the reader on the importance of this animated short in animation and Disney history. I also wanted to create this book to share my personal passion for this subject and offer the reader a unique insight into the history of a world famous organisation. The book looks through what happened before and after Steamboat Willie’s release in 1928, and the content includes Early Disney, The Making of Steamboat Willie and Legacy. The inside pages were printed on 130 gsm off-white recycled paper.
